Reiki is . . .

Receiving a massage

Reiki session

  • An effective form of hands-on tratment to bring greater health and wellbeing to ones body, mind and spirit.
  • Can help relieve pain, provide relaxation, expand energy and bring significant positive change to the person receiving it.
  • Seeks to balance the body's energy to allow healing at the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.
  • Considered to be one of the many complementary and alternative medicine techniques.

The Reiki Practitioner is not the healer. The person receiving the Reiki Session is the healer. Only we can heal ourselves. Reiki can facilitate the process.

Definition of Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a Japanese healing art. Mikao Usui was a devout Buddhist, who, in his intense desire to understand and work with methods of medicine and healing, developed Reiki. "Reiki" is a Japanese word for the concept: "Universal Life Energy". Reiki's initial stages can be learned by anyone regardless of their personal philosophy or spiritual beliefs. According to Dr. Usui through the initiations of Reiki comes a "re-awakening", a re-opening of the stronger healing potential that lies within us all.

A Reiki session may strikingly reduce pain, assist in clearing psychological issues, accelerate the healing process and restore balance and harmony to the whole person.

You will remain fully dressed except for your shoes while receiving a Reiki session and may be covered with a sheet or blanket.
